  • New Jkd Unlimited Instructors!

I am pleased to announce that Creighton Hatico and Chip Jewitt, both of Honolulu, passed the gruelling JKDU Apprentice Instructor exam with flying fists and colors! What a battle. Lots of great technique, along with one particularly devastating accidental low blow. High Performance Members will be seeing the test on the October video lesson. Congratulations again to two great guys who have proven their fighting ability in all the ranges, with and without weapons.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to your questions. There is no pad work or drilling, only a demonstration of teaching technique, then sparring. 7 rounds, 1 minute 20 second each, full-contact with protective equipment, striking, kicking, etc. always allowed. One round each of: knife sparring, stick sparring, kickboxing, clinch fighting, pass guard, defend guard, start standing and go where ever. Not much rest in between rounds. A good test of skills in each range, along with the pressure and emotions of fighting in front of people. It isn't street fighting, but it is a pretty good test.

Thanks for posting Demi. As I have told you before, I really like your approach. Keep up the great work!

For arrgh, sorry, but I don't know anyone in Philly at this time. Maybe you should come to Hawaii for our camp in November! It is going to be great.
(Yes, that was a shameless plug for our camp, but really, it is going to be great!)

                      Better late than never, Burton

Speaking of shameless plugs, you suggested on this forum a long time ago that if I started a JKD class I should post it here. I have started a class in Culver City (LA) at 9537 Culver Blvd., 90232
The classes are forming now and the curriculum includes JKD as I practice it and teach it with Muay Thai, some Jun Fan kickboxing and BJJ & Catch grappling. (Kali is also taught as a supplemental art)
I am there on Mondays at 5:00-6:30 if you need info. or contact me at scott@labridge.com

                      Burton,
One of my long distance students is using your phase videos and loves them. He ordered them a while ago.
