I am new to this forum and to martial arts in general. I need to find out information before i start and would like to know if there are any other martial arts forums such as this one that are useful (many experienced members, etc.). Also, I would appreciate any basic books or videos that you could recommend to me - i am interested only in defense as well as offense in the form of disabling someone (also to defend). I will be learning on my own unfortunately due to time and money constraints, but i have always had an interest and do not want to continue passing up the opportunity to learn, so i greatly appreciate any help you can offer me. thank you.

I'm currently starting a forum at my site! Feel free to drop by, although it's small as of yet, lots of great information floats around!

Effective Combat SystemsThere is really noting you must be, nothing you must do. There is really nothing you must have, nothing you must know. There is really nothing you must become. However, it helps to understand that fire burns, and when it rains the earth gets wet...

The very best forums IMO.
www.senshido.com and www.sammyfranco.com
These two go beyond JKDC IMO. Probably the two best forums on
SD on the internet.
