It could be hilly in Philly though, couldn't it? PFS is great stuff- hardcore, streetsmart JKD concepts. Having trained (a little) with Paul Vunak, I'd definitely give PFSofPA a look, if I were you.

In New York City, check Anderson's Martial Arts in Manhattan. Outstanding training.

                JKD

Its great to see fellow JKD practioners. What are you all training in JKD for?

I do it so I can become an awsome fighting machine!

                  Hey

I am going to do it for selfdefense(to learn to fight) its getting crazy out here. Up until recent we really didnt have any jkd instructors in philly they are getting closer but they average 40 to 60 miles travel time.

                    is Princeton close enough?

You should check out Princeton Academy of Martial Arts
An excellent JKD/Kali/Silat/ grappling school. The instructor, Rick Tucci is awesome, and even more importantly, his students are too.

                      Rick

Yes Rick is great. i jus wish he had more sparring classes like add one on Saturday. They only spar wed., nights and i cant make it that night. Without sparring it defeats the purpose

                        yes, true...
I was under the impression that at the open workouts on Saturdays, quite a bit of sparring was going on. Also, one of his students told me that the Muay Thai level 2 class is pretty slam-bang all the time.

                          Sparring

Sparring is a very important part of fighting....maybe you should talk to your teacher? Im sure he wouldn't mind. But if possible you should try and figure out a way to get there.

                            JKD in Philly area

Phillyman, I sent you a post a while back telling you that I teach in the Philly area. You didn't even e-mail me, you just ask for credentials. You claim that you can't go to PAMA because they ONLY spar on Wednesday nights. I suspect you only spar with the keyboard and haven't or will seriously train. If you take exception to this you should, but if you want to train OR spar come and get it!

By the way, I trained 4 years in Krav Maga and the last 4 years in JKD under Paul Vunak and am a certified instructor under Paul.

                            Not a poser.
