momma_news, there is a huge frickin difference between what you said and what he said. he was saying that you talk trash, but bruce lee could have easily wiped the floor with you. you were basically dissing him and junfan man didn't agree with that. so he simply said, "well if he sucks so bad let's see YOU beat him" again, more or less. it was obvious that he meant while he was alive. either that or he was merely stating that bruce lee was then, better than you are now. and, i assume, that you have no right to be saying anything, as you are not up to Mr. Lee's level. this was an opinion (even if a majority agree with it) and you went way too far. the obsurdity was in your statementmuch more so than it was in Jun's, as it was you who said, "I think I could probably take him right now! Especially after being dead for over 30 years. Just don't think he'd put up much of a fight. " as for lightening up? get a decent sense of humor first. that was in no way funny. i realize that i am repeating myself, but so be it. i realize that i may come across as harsh, but yes, you did hit a nerve. definitely not a good thing. so next time, pick your words carefully, and don't say such dishonorable things. when we next speak, may it be over a happier subject. I have read the articles several times. They are well written, and NO WHERE in the structure of the text does the author come across as disrespctful of Bruce Lee, IMO. The publisher of Tao of Jeet Kune Do fialed to clarify as to the where Bruce had researched to borrow ideas (there is NOTHING wrong with borrowing good ideas so long as credit is given). The author is merely offering some of this clarification. It is a known fact that a copyright lawsuit occured against the publisher of Tao of Jeet Kune Do .

I have to question the age/maturity of any individual who comes up with a comment like "I would like to see you in a ring with him so we can see how much you know". Sorry, it's just a dumb comment, and moma_news' comment about beating bruce because he has been dead for thirty years was made to point out how absurd the original comment was. Are we gonna go back "who would win in a fight, Bruce Lee or fill in the blank?"

DragonGod, there are people out there who have great respect for Bruce Lee and are capable of controlling their emotions, and responding in a dignified manner. They can discern when something is truly disrespectful of Bruce's memory, as opposed to something that is nothing more than simple forum banter. I, for one, would appreciate it if you leave the guardianship of Bruce's memory to those people, as your hot-headed response clearly indicates that you lack proper judgement.

I do not believe Bruce Lee ever intended on publishing these notes. He may have intended on eventually publishing about his art, but I don't think he would have ever published these copied notes. Hell, you can't fault a man for things published after his death. If there is any fault at all, it is definitely not on Bruce Lee himself.

My objectives with this article was simply to show that many things that are attributed as BL originals are not, and to show some possible sources to other things such as the scene in Enter the Dragon and (coming in the 3rd part) one of his ranking systems. I thought it would be enlightening to many of BL's fans to see where some of these things came from. I know of many, many more instances, but I don't have the time or inclination to pursue it further. The examples in the article are simply ones that I stumbled on myself.

Bruce Lee has influenced my life in many ways. One of the greatest is in my thirst for knowledge through books. With a personal library of over 2,000 books, that inspired me to start my own collection. Although nowhere near BL's, I have a sizeable one now. That is how I stumbled on many of the examples in my article.

Although I have received mostly positive responses on the article, it disturbs me that even a few misinterpret my motives. I hope to clarify this in the last part. Maybe I should have waited and published them as one large piece, but I was eager to share my discoveries with others.

What do you mean babbling? I didn't think I was babbling. I mean, babbling to me is when you just start saying things that just pop into your head. I mean it's like the other day when I was walking to work and saw this bird flying toward a local pond. Wow, it was incredible. This thing just flew down, barely skimming the water and snatched a fish right out of there. I've never seen anything like it! The fish was about twice the size of the bird. It must have been a 20 lb. catfish this thing picked up. Or maybe it was a trout. Which one has the gill things on it? Both? Oh well, it made me late for work and my boss got on my ass about missing part of the staff meeting. He also told me that I still had ketchup on my face from lunch. Is it Catsup or Ketchup? Are they both the same thing? Anyway, I don't think I was babbling in the article, do you????
