  • JKD book by B. Richardson

This is something I ask from those who have several JKD books, including the one written by Burton Richardson.

If I can (at the moment anyway) buy just one JKD book in addition to Tao of JKD, which one would be a great buy? I have been contemplating on the book by Richardson, do you have better ideas?

I have never read Burt's books before so i am no help there. But i would recommend Paul Vunak's two books Jeet kune do it's concepts and philoshophies and Anatomy of a steet fight also by Paul. They are great books and will keep you attention all they way though. Plus they show some drills you can play with .

    Hope this helps

I agree, Concepts & Philosphies is probably the best book I've seen.

I would recommend you look at Chris Kent's books, Jeet Kune Do: From A to Z (volumes 1 & 2), which give you a very good overview of what JKD is about. As the Tao of JKD is a complilation of Bruce's notes which is difficult to understand, Chris Kent's books explain the art in a clear and readable fashion.

Although Burton Richardson's book is interesting, even Burton himself has indicated that he no longer teaches a lot of the stuff that's in the book. In other words, it's outdated as far bas what Burton is doing these days.
