and might i also remind all that authors regardless of their best intent in piecing together the events of a person's life are never accurate unless these authors actually spent all of their lives living with bruce lee -- and as such authors will spectulate and 'fill in the gaps'....."
First, this book is not about the philosophy of Bruce Lee. It is about the history of one portion of his life. These authors never spent time with Bruce Lee, so how do they know his inner most thoughts at any particular moment? Bruce Lee's thoughts are presented as fact, not speculation. This book is represented by the authors as a history, not as a dramatization, of Bruce Lee's time in Oakland. To "fill in the gaps" in this way turns what could have been an excellent work of nonfiction into just another combination of fiction/nonfiction about Bruce Lee.

I'm not exactly sure of your question. Are you asking if those guys are who they say they are or are you asking if they even knew Bruce Lee? The answer is yes to both questions. If you're asking whether everything they say is 100% accurate then I can't really say. Bruce is no longer with us, so at times you may have to either take their word for it until someone else can prove them wrong or not. For the most part, I believe that they give accurate accounts of their experiences with Bruce as best as they can recall it. That's all you can ask for. The best thing about Paul Bax's forum is that Paul has interviewed many of Bruce's original students and still keeps in contact with them via email. So whenever a question arises that needs to be verified he contacts them and most often than not he get's a response.

There's some really good stuff on JKD and Bruce in those threads. They haven't posted on the forums for a very long time though. Patrick Strong dropped in about a week ago to clear something up but hasn't stopped by since. Jesse Glover was posting steadily last month but he went on a trip to europe recently so I don't think he'll be posting for some time but you could read some of his threads as well. Enjoy.

Well, they post under their own names silly. What's funny is that alot of the people on that site are JKD instructors and post under their own names. They may not be as well known because they aren't original Bruce Lee students but they don't feel the need to hide behind a nickname. I, however, am just a keyboard warrior. So I'm content in staying a nobody by hiding behind my nick.
