plz dont ask why but come somebody please give me a complete list of ALL the kicks in shoalin kung fu and all styles of tae kwon do. It would really help me out ALOT.

Is it true that kicking somebody in the head is just as good as punching somebody in the foot.

How good of a martial artist is cass magda i.e. tornaments and the street.

Hi Sphinx. I train at the Impact Martial Arts Academy in Stoke-on-Trent under Sifu Dave Carnell, which is part of the Magda Institute. I've been to one Cass Magda seminar in the past, which I really enjoyed! The seminar mostly covered Kali and Silat, and JKD Concepts. The South East Asian systems seems to be his speciality. I believe there is another Cass Magda seminar coming up next month.

As for your question on shaolin kicks, don't all moves have weird names? Like, "tiger plays with balls" etc etc??

Sorry, that was an old joke from my Kung fu days!

                    *sigh*

no there is a distinct difference. for instance when you are kicking someone one in the face you are standing on only one leg therefor you have less balance then you would if you where on two legs. though kicking someone in the face would hit harder then punching someon on the foot. if you punch someone in the foot then you are low on that person and have leverage on that person and therefor you can shoot in after the person after you punch or go for the balls. even though there is a greater chance of you getting kicked in the face and can get seriosly hurt. if anything i would say they are opposites although equal in effectivness.

don't know and don't care about your first question.

                    oh and your welcome smartass

                      WaWaWaWaWaWaWhy?

I'm sorry, I just had to do that

I've knocked guys out kicking them in the head. However, I already had them dazed from a blow(usually they were on their hands and knees) and with a good one it was done. A high kick to the head is a little more difficult and very risky(especially to your family jewels). A punch to the foot?? You've been watching Van Damn movies haven't you? I saw him punch a guy in the bottom of the foot in one of his movies. I take it you are talking--hitting the top of the foot? Is this some kind of shoot move to confuse your opponent? I'm not sure what you meant by this so I really can't answer. Was never into TKD(too flashy with no functionality) and Shaolin kungfu has many branches. Which one are you referring to. Northern styles of gung fu have a lot of kicks whereas southern styles are more strike oriented. They also have weird names(Monkey plucks apple from basket)... Huh?

Oh yeah, do a search for northern kungfu styles and see what you come up with. Or get some books. I have books of arts from all over the world. Japanese, Indian,African, Brazilian, Chinese,Isreali, Greek, Filipino, etc. and what is strange is that most if not all included some form of grappling but somehow 'forgot' about them until recently with the new boom in BJJ and NHB and MMA. Now we have gone from one end of the spectrum to the other and forgotten about stand up. Until someone comes along and 'reminds' everybody about the forgotten art of striking.
