the average weight and hight for a chinese man

The average Chinese man born in china

Weighs 58.9 kilogram or 129. pounds
    Height: 167.4 centimeter = 5.5 feet

References: Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, School of Medicine, University of California, San Francisco, CA, USA

Based on what John Little and Linda Lee have written, Bruce lee kept a steady weight and size of five foot, seven-and-a-half inches tall and 135-pounds.

Based on that information, it would suggest that Bruce Lee was just over the average height and weight for a Chinese man born in china. Furthermore the above study lists the average weight and height of an American raised Chinese man at about 4 lbs more, and at least 1 to 2 inches taller. Bringing the totals to almost exactly what Lee weighed, with his height just being a ½ inch taller then the average American raised Chinese man.

    Ms. J bows deeply.....

    PS. Is that scientific enough?

Didnt read through all these but you can only workout twice a day on steroids. And bruce had extremely strong fast twitch muscle fibre. 80 lbs 10 reps is damn good.

Good point Thor - Bruce Lee's weight regiment is suprisingly light. I noticed the same thing.

Somehow, he could kick like a mule. Wally Jay, a traditional JJ guy bought a 300 lb punching bag and his students couldn't move it. According to Jay, Bruce kicked it into the wall.

That is fairly impressive - I'm about 3" taller and 30 lbs heavier than bruce and that's how much I curl.

I really wonder how many of these Bruce Lee facts are real. The man is becoming a myth.

He is considered to be the best martial artist of the 20th century.

He achieved a lot. There is no need to remember him by a lie.

The martial artsworld would be so much different, and probably smaller if Bruce Lee has never been around.

You're convincing me that it may have been better off without him. His films propulgated the myth of the invincible martial arts superman that attracted so many idiots to the martial arts scene. Quality in a small package would have been far better than the quantity of rubbish we have today.

I don't think it was Bruce Lee's intention to portray martial artists as invincible. His films were just pure entertainment. Its just some people take things too seriously and can't distinguish between Bruce Lee as a Martial Artist and Bruce Lee as a filmstar.

I like Bruce Lee, but I didn't start martial arts because of him. I do see him as an inspiration though. However, I think his films have the effect of making certain people believe the unbelievable. I don't understand why people would want to inpersonate Bruce Lee by wearing the Game of Death yellow tracksuit and trying to act like him.

I think there are Pros and Cons to Bruce Lee:

                            PROS:

                            1. He brought martial arts out into the open.
                            2. An inspiration to many people.

                            CONS:

                            1. The emergence of many McDojos.
                            2. The idea of the martial arts Superman (as Thai B stated) - I've heard stories from people that believe he could catch bullets with his teeth etc.

Without Bruce Lee, do you think it would be much more difficult to find a martial arts school in your area?

Thats true. But I would only be looking for a good one.

I suppose there are many GOOD martial artists that have joined the fold because of Bruce. Overall his influence has been positive. He can't really be held responsible for the McDojo's and charlatans.

                                GUESS WHAT

I'm 15, been training for 2 years, and I can't seem to gain weight no matter how much I train, or work out. I also study JKD.

It definately has somthing to do with our diet. I don't know if Bruce Done this, but I can go almost all day, working out, playing sports, football, baseball, anything, on an empty stomache, or on sumthing light like poptars. My mom seems to think i'm starving myself. But the truth is i eat what my body needs, to operate.

Oh but I'm 5'8, and about 139 lbs.

                                Tell me what you think
