  • Jean Claude Bat Man

I know it is Van Damme. Never liked him, but what even happened to him and Segal. They dropped off the face of the planet. There cruddy movies now go straight to video and you never see them until you are wandering the aisles at Wally World at about 2 am. That would have to suck, to be those guys.

Who will be the next up and comming martial arts super star?
What martial art will be the next big explosion in the industry?

        Two words...

        Jet Li

By FAR the best martial arts star since Bruce lee. Yes, yes, I've heard it... his moves in the movies wouldn't work in real life... yada yada... simmer down, it's just a movie.

Fist of Legend is the best martial art movie ever made kids. Don't you forget it. (remake of a Bruce Lee movie, so it figures).

brad allen is on jackie chans stunt team. he's played minor rolls in most of jackie chans more contemporary movies(mr.nice guy, who am i, rush hour), but the largest roll he played was in jackie chans movie gorgeous. which is a corny movie, but the fight scene with brad against jackie was entertaining.

some kid made a subwebsite about him on his jackie chan site:

also i do agree jet li is a pretty talented, but i wouldnt go as far to say he's the best martial arts star since bruce lee. i think that would definetly have to go jackie chan.

I have to say I love Jet Li films. "Fist of Legend" and "Once Upon a Time in China 1 and 2" are great films!! I also liked Kiss of the Dragon too. I like the earlier Jackie Chan stuff, but I prefer Jet Li.

I think Mark Dacascos is underrated as an martial arts action-star. I know he's done some crap straight-to-video stuff too, but I prefer him to Jean Claude or Seagal.

Mark Dacascos did some pretty cool fights in Brotherhood of the Wolf.

I think Jackie chan has the market cornered in adding humor to his movies. That is his niche. He is extremely creative in is endeavors. I like Jet Li for his super human aspect movies. More of a tribute to the campy old martial arts flicks. Different styles, both great.

Any one seen Gymkata. I once rode my bike accross town to the theater to see it, and even as a kid of about 12 or 13, I was very disappointed. Now I just think it is pretty funny.

Thank god I'm not the only one in the world who thinks Fist of Legend was the BEST martial art movie ever, I dont think there could ever be another movie that would be even close to competing for a position as runner up.
