For anyone in ottawa looking to study Jeet Kune Do,
DRAGON TREE is the place you should be.

If you are looking for realistic street fighting then DRAGON TREE is what you want, it is a martial arts that is oriented for the streets.

We are not your typical martial arts school, the training atmosphere is more like a boxing gym than a traditional dojo. There are no belts, forms (Kata), bowing or other rituals that have nothing to do with making you a better fighter.

Our classes do not exceed twelve students at one time which means lots of individual attention and that means results.

We do and have trained police/Brinks employees in our schools, Joseph Peckham is the instructor of Dragon Tree.

PRIVATE CLUB - YEAH RIGHT

Sorry to be the one to give you the wake up call. But I have spoken to students (former and current) of Mr.Peckham and they have ALL said that Mr.Peckham has opened and closed down his JKD school 5 - 6 times now. I'm sorry but that is not a very good role model to be as a martial arts instructor.

Why should anyone trust this guy if he has opened his school and closed it down this many times? He obviously should give up on martial arts if he has failed this many times. Martial arts is definitely not his calling if he screwed up so many times.

Who is Peckham certified in JKD under anyway?

By the way, check out your super duper website. Your URL address doesn't work. Maybe closing down your school so many times has rubbed off on your website. HaHaHa

Truth About Peckham

If anyone wants the scoop on this guy you should contact his former Instructor, Lamar Davis.

Davis can give you the total story on this guy.

This guy has a proven record for "Get Rich Quick Schemes". Maybe that's why his school keeps closing down so much.

By the way, tell Peckham that the landlord from the Wellington St. school is angry about him breaking the 3 year lease and skipping out of the money that is still owed on back rent.

who's lamar davis and what can he tell us bout Mr.Peckham
just curious but this dragon tree thing seems to be the only school in ottawa or a private club was planning to check it out and now don't know where to go...

Lamar Davis is probably one of the more knowledgeable second-generation JKD instructors out there. I attended one of his seminars in Hamilton a few years ago. Interesting guy, built like an ox, kinda short-tempered, and he has the meanest looking snarl I've ever seen.

Anyways, I don't know who this Peckham character is, but I did train JKD in Ottawa for about two years with Dave Hash. Again, he can be a strange guy and not everyone can deal with his temper/attitude, but I enjoyed my training with him. I don't know if he still teaches at all, but you can probably find him if you look hard enough.
