I don't believe that Bruce is worshipped at all! Firstly, he is the only well recognised martial artist that has made a difference within the martial arts world. His contribution will forever remain a topic of discussion for everyone, despite their knowledge of martial arts. He has done more for the martial arts community than anyone else, so yes he bloody well does deserve our utmost respect. Without him martial arts within America wouldn't have had that kick start it needed to develop all those different styles. Remember, the early 70’s within the U.S were scratching the surface of brand new martial arts, arts they had noticed from other parts of the world. America owes loads to Bruce, but to aspire to have the agility and naturalism of him is very different to worshipping him. I don't believe anyone worships him, but respects and appreciates what he's done. Also whoever says that his movies were bollox needs to rewatch them and consider what was really going on at the time. He was broken in to the industry with 'Big Boss' which pretty much displayed his effortless talent on a plate! To end on 'Enter the Dragon', a martial art film made 32 years ago and is still very much watch able now; you name another martial art film like that! To end with, i think that anyone that actually worships bruce isn't a real fan of his.

wtf hes not worshipped .... well not by me.
I mean i just give him this, he was a great martial artist. that deserves the respect that he earned., no one ever said omg hes the toughest man on earth, and that everyone should bow to him or anything.
He was just an amazing martial artist. Just like Jackie Chan, Just like Muhammad Ali or Roy Jones Jr in boxing. Just like Jordan in basketball, Jerry Rice in football and gretzky in hockey. So chill out. at least give him that.
Its all genetics, These Athletes where just born that way. For instance, look at the differnce between Michael Jordan and Lebron James. Michael although great, he was great in a different way.Michael didnt even make his high school bball team. Lebron was playing NBA basketball at 18. Everyone's skill will be diff and there will always be someone better. But to say bruce lee doesnt deserve respect for being a great FIGHTER is wrong. If 1 million people where put through every single experience, training regiment, and workout that bruce lee was put through. Maybe 1 would be as good a fighter as bruce lee MAYBE.

Follow the tracksuit, the holy tracksuit of Bruce
No the gourd, follow the gourd
He has left us his sandal, it is a sign that we must do the same!
Great film, life of brian. (quest for the holy grail was good too though)
The whole point of Bruce wearing the tracksuit was to show what JKD was. It wasn't standard, it wasn't formal, it wasn't anything. Whereas almost all the others he fought in the movie were garbed in traditional uniforms because they represented "traditional" martial arts his attire didn't represent anything. This was a conscious decision on Bruce's part when making the movie because it was a point he wanted to get across.

Bruce had a right leg that was significantly shorter than his left leg. And he was near-sighted. An average person trained as Bruce was for a good amount of years would be just as good, amybe even better.

He never proved it. He was just an average guy who trained very hard to reach his full potential. Remember most people have a crapload of potential that they just never take advantage of because most people are lazy and drift through life.

Like I said, with lots of training. Remember, most people are al average pretty much. Sure, some people are greatly naturally talented in certain areas, but I mean most people are pretty full of potential they don't use.
Look at Jackie Chan and the Peking Opera School he was at. All those kids there learned to do fighting and acrobatics, etc....very well, yet they were not selected based on genetics or anything. They were just put in there and subjected to grueling training.
People comapre Jackie Chan to Bruce Lee. Physically, Jackie Chan is probably average as well, just he was trained in acrobatics and martial arts from a very young age, and thus he utilized his potential early on. He does have a talent for kung-fu comedy though.

correction---the world bench press record is 1005 by Gene Rychlak.....
Joe Lewis is a sharp, persistent critic of lee, and yet Lewis admits
that Lee's hand speed and punching power would have gotten him ranked
top 10 in the world in his weight division. Lewis contends that Lee lacked the mental discipline and the ability to take a punch to be a boxing champ, but yes, Lee's speed and power were world class. IIRC Lee's hand speed was clocked at over 110 ( much faster than Ali) and his power was below Marciano's but above an average heavyweight.

Long long ago in a studio lot far far away...
In a time when "realistic looking kung fu" was not used in movies, Bruce did realistic looking kung fu.
In a time when most people had no exposure to TCMA outside of China Bruce was teaching CMA.
He was a good fighter.
He was not the greatest fighter.
He was not unbeatable.
Wong Jack Man probably would have beat him if he hadn't been too much of a pussy to accept the rematch; WJM didn't use his feet in the first match and they tied.
NEVER believe what you see in sources written by Linda Lee, she has been milking her movie star husband's fame for whatever it's worth ever since he dropped dead.
