  • Combat Kajukenbo ?.........

Here is the website for a Kajukenbo school near me in central texas.

I'm only intrested in their Combat Kajukenbo courses but they don't tell much.

I'd like to know what anyone thinks of Kajukenbo or This street style of... as a MA for myself.

There is limited options out here and it is either this or a Martial arts school that offers Jeet Kune Do. http://www.kajukenbo-combatives.com/

Check out their website and tell me what you think.

The Instructors listed under the head Instructors lineage, Grandmaster Maximo M. Pallen, Grandmaster Charles Gaylord, Sigung Brian K. Yoshii, W. Hock Hochheim, Sifu John Bono are all legitimate.

With the exception of Hockheim, they are all from the San Francisco Bay Area and this is how I know of them. Charles Gaylord is one of my past Instructors back in the "70's and Max Pallen was already and Gaylord were already big names in the '70's.

hey if you want to check out other schools or find some information go to kajukenbo.org
Kajukenbo stands for karate/judo/jujutsui/kenpo/chinese boxing. Kajukenbo is a good martial art. You will learn to fight both upright and grapple. Also kajukenbo is well tailored for the street. Many of the kajukenbo practitioners of kajukenbo I know compete in MMA. The instructors like Gaylord and Bono are some of the best in Kajukenbo and are great instructors. You are actually pretty lucky to get to train with them if you do join in my opinion.

They would have to be tough with those kind of names(Gaylord and Bono).

Haha if I was going to create my own style of martial art I certainly would change my name as well. Gaylord Method. Makes me laugh every time.

                    School San Jose , CA

I run the school in San Jose, give me a call if your still school shopping,
                    Sigung Bono
We stress the four ranges of fighting, kicking, punching (boxing), trapping and grappling. Our approach is very progressive, using what works best from whatever art it's from. Kajukenbo is our base because of the toughness and tenacity it instills. We also use JKD concepts, Western Boxing, Thai, Savate, Lameco, Brazilian Jujitsu, Shoot, Sambo and a variety of other arts. The training is very realistic and street oriented.
