No one will admit it but he did why do you think Bruce found it so necessary to change his martial art? Did Royce Gracie discount Brazilian Jujitsu after his long fight with Kimo? No you only change things that much when you lose. Bruce was a number 10 athlete but only a 7 or 8 martial artist and a legend in the kung fu movies.

of course it doesnt
I think that there was a very close fight that happened - i dont think that either kicked the others ass - i think that Bruce had a big head about his abilities and then realised ' he wasnt all that' then felt the need to be ' all that' and worked his ass off to accomplish it.
Fairplay to the man.
cheers

Hey thai bri you must not have seen enter the dragon, he easily beat about a hundred people without even thinking twice about it. Wong jack man? Han was the only person who ever came close to beating bruce (and having a claw hand is a bit of an advantage).
Now post again... with emotional content, NOT ANGER!

The only real fight he had in the US was with Wong Jak Man. I started this thread as a factual statement since there has been much discussion over Bruce’s fights. If you sit down with Ted Wong and Inosanto they’ll tell you he got beat. Wong Jak Man sure as hell didn’t lose. He came to Bruce with 8 other Chinese MA. Do you think they let Wong Jak Man lose? They stopped him from killing Bruce and told him he must now stop teaching Chinese MA to the Qui Lo (white man). So he did and he made up his own system JKD. That as we all know isn't the only reason. Bruce never even learn the complete version of his modified wing chun.

[B]your so full of shit, tell me when was the last time you sat down with Ted Wong and Dan Insontano and discussed the topic.
I have and I’ve been doing Wing Chung and JKD since 1988 and have gone to more seminars with these guys than I can count.
Anyway, adacas is correct, but I don’t know anything about a second fight.
Fact Yip Man didn’t teach zoning, distancing, body language, whipping the hips into punches & kicks and footwork until student became very senior and trustworthy. Now, the story has been told to me that every time Bruce turned to do a reverse put or kick Wong Jak Man beat him to the punch by side stepping and attaching his week side. Bruce had never been taught to counter these movements like senior students of Yip Man like William Chueng. In turn, Bruce took some of the above mentioned attributes from Filipino MA that he learned from Insontano. Bruce’s brother was a very good fencer and Bruce felt this footwork gave him the most mobility. In fencing you also have your weapons forward. Bruce also adopted this. Bruce took the fight to the ground to even the odds. Sorry, but he still lost. But that led to he seeking Jujitsu training also and that’s why ground fighting is in his book.
Please don’t get me wrong, I’m the biggest fan of Bruce, JKD, Wing Chung and the Filipino MA, but the fact is that at the time of his fight with Wong Jak Man, Bruce was not the man or the MA he became. I’ve been studying this for a long time and don’t know of any factual fights in the US post Wong Jak Man. He had many challenges and some people said that he got into a fight during the filming of Enter the Dragon, but I personally don’t belive it b/c Bruce nor anyone can account for the events of this fight and if it happened I think there would be more details.
Believe it or not It’s the only stories I’ve here that really do make sense. I think if Wong Jak Man and Bruce met again, Bruce would have kicked the shit out of Wong Jak Man. Period.

Nor did Wong have 8 guys with him. Before stating "your facts" try talking to someone who was there or at least someone who was in the Oakland school at that time.
