Axe kicks are not EASY to evade or block when they come from an expert at close range when you can't see it coming like it is supposed to be done, everything is easy to block or evade when thrown by an amateur (especially when they launch it from out of range), but even against really good fighters I have blocked them so I kind of agree and disagree with you ThaiBri!

True. A true expert has a great chace of getting just about anything home.

But mere mortals should rely on other techniques.

Instead of coming off arrogant I meant to point out that everyone judges martial arts based on the execution of techniques by amatuers, rarely do people see anyone of quality execute something so just base their opinions off watching people that train part time or for only a short while. The same drives me nuts when I read posts about how to better execute "such and such" a technique when the simple answer is: PRACTICE! Everyone thinks they must be doing something wrong since, well, they've been training a whole month and should be a ninja by now! People refuse to accept that skill comes with time and dedication and that sparring someone that has been training part time on and off for a couple of years and defeating them is no big accomplishment.

Ever heard of the phrase K.I.S.S? It means Keep It Simple Stupid. So one should keep with the simple strikes. By they way, I wasn't calling anyone stupid; I was just using the phrase.(Don't want to offend anyone)

                    New to the forum.

Hey I am Chris, I study TKD and enjoy it very much so. I love the round kick because it has alot of combination's with it like.... front kick round kick, spin hook kick round kick, spin cresent round kick leg check round kick machine gun round kick + you can do fun things with it. Like 2day in class i got someone in the back of there head when they rushed in to jab me

(i am a blue belt lol but my belt does not show my skill)

                          hmmm

i assume a tornado kick is rapid round kicks in a circle? or a 360 round kick (i am trying to perfect that right now for fun ^^)
those are the only things i might assume it would be

it doesn't sound like a very effetive technique, but i've never seen it done before.
