How can I show respect to these McDojo freaks? They take an art that was once badass and turn it into a source of income, with no respect to the art.

Free speech is something I was born with in America, if you don't like it, don't read my posts. And with the personal insults, I'm going to spare you this time.

    Later bitch,

    MJ

I'm "shaking" all over! Thanks for "sparring" me. I am "grateful" sir.

You are a BADASS or do your "friends" say thay you are a Bad Ass after they're through with you?
      Free speech? Speak fool.

P.S. I'm an American also. I happen to live in Greece right now. So don't go patriotic and free speech on me. Save it for others.
By the way, no reply necessary, cause you sure ain't gonna get one from me.

Calm down people. I am sorry for not replying sooner. 미안 함니다 It's true that most TKD schools have been molded into a family friendly martial art. However, the exceptions seem to be schools that are actually ran by Koreans 한국 All the good schools that I have seen were instructed by Koreans. Sorry to be racist, but its true. White guys want to tone down the fighting aspect, and they sell it off TKD as "more then fighting, it is a way of life." I have been lucky in finding traditional schools that avoid the whole soccer mom mentality. Since the age of 4 I have been doing knuckle push ups on hard wood floors and concrete, so no one can tell me that TKD is fluff. More then that though, I am friends with an 8 year shaolin student, and also with an aikido practitioner, and both of them I own in sparring. (sparring that doesn't stop, but that is continous and we fight ground as well) The fact is that though there may be a plethera of terrible, unqualified teachers out in the world, TKD as an effective martial art is undoubtebly real. By the way, every martial art has its weaknesses.

Right, right, right, it's all the fault of all those damn white people.

Its true you do seem racist.

'Since the age of 4' was how long ago? 12yrs or less, right?

It's hard to be racist against my own people, since I am white... I only wrote the truth.

The two biggest TKD schools I ever visited with both run by Korean's and they where both McDojo all the way. So the statement that its only white guys who run bad TKD schools is garbage. And doing knuckle push up's on concrete doesn't make you a good fighter.

Agreed - a racist comment is a racist comment - no matter who it comes from.

to say that white people dont do real TKD or whatever is just rediculous.

I know other races that also have mcdojo's but i dont judge the schools on the race of the instructor, but on the abilities of the schools.

                    regards
                    Chris

The vast majority of Korean folks I know are the first to say that tkd is useless in a real scrap.

                      ....which proves exactly nothing

LOL, A TKD practitioner sparring an Aikodist!!! Now that is funny. Who is more inept. Seriously, I too have a TKD BB. What people don't realize is that TKD in modern form, 1955 and up, was moulded into a sport format to proliferate it. This attitude has made it into the largest martial art in the world. It is far superior to any other martial art in stand up, one step, point sparring format. This is what TKD has evolved to.

The problem is some of these TKD practitioners think that this one step point sparring format is self-defence or better yet, Vale Tudo in nature. TKD is a sport - not Vale Tudo or like Kickboxing. A lot of TKD guys get cleaned up by full contact Martial Artists. I know tons to TKD BB's with their current mindframe in point sparring that would get cleaned up by a kickboxer with 2 years of experience.

I am friends with an 8 year shaolin student, and also with an aikido practitioner, and both of them I own in sparring. (sparring that doesn't stop, but that is continous and we fight ground as well)
Hmmmm...it's like being the smartest kid in a class of retards...you're just the smartest retard! How can you compare ground fighting?!?! Ok, I have a joke for everyone...a TKD practitioner, Aikidoist and Shaolin Kung Fu guy are sitting around discussing who is the best grappler...LOL!!! I would love to see how you guys grapple.

Most TKD tourneys have dropped the whole point sparring deal, and now it is much more common to see the Olympic 3, 2 min rounds. (continuous free sparring...)

Who cares?!?! It still sucks. There is no power and many of the techniques due to the "points". It doesn't matter if the move was effective...only that it touched a legal area. Try just tapping a kickboxer with multiple ineffectual kicks and watch him drop you.

Ben Jamin is correct. I was trying to be kind and avoided stating some of the things he did, esp. about the ground fighting. The truth is you owe it to yourself to seek out a legit BJJ, MT, or MMA school and try your skills in sparing against people who spar and grapple every class. You wouldn't race against soap box racers to find out if you could drive at Daytona.
