you guys are looking at fly kicks from the perspective of using them often in self defence. I'm against all the fancy shit, I just want to see if there are some situations that it wouldn't be stupid to use some of the types of fly kicks. I'll admit that it is probably impossible to have them completely untelegraphed.

I practice Wing Chun at the moment but still can see some of the TKD fly kicks that attack 2 opponents at once working in a street fight. I don't want to start
another argument about which art is the best.
i've used flying kicks in a real fight, so dont take all these people's shit. they're just jealous that they can't do flying kicks.

HandtoHand: However must not be able to wrap ones hand all the way around one’s back to the front, to know that masturbating the regular way is far more easy, simple and effective.
I guess you call yourself HandtoHand for a different reason? lol

Why did you ask our opinion? It is obvious to me that you wanted us to say "Yes, they work".
Well they don't. They put you in more danger than the guy you are kicking in a real go. And sirmattu is clearly telling porky pies.
But you carry on and train them. You use them in a real go. After all, someone has to keep nurses in work.

Next time, try a little harder, I'm sure you can rise to a higher level. And in the meantime, "Two words; shut------up".

Anyway, you're focusing only on the negative part of what I said...
I thought it was funny that you were making some very intelligent points, then hung a left turn along the way and started going on about self-administering the ol' RNC.

Keep on wearin' that giant clock on the necklace and put your hands in the air like you don't care.

Originally posted by HandtoHandOh I see. So when you've beat the shit out of your opponent and he's about to fall down, instead of knocking him on his ass right then and there you, back up take a running start and hurtle yourself through the air, not only because you want to give him the chance to sidestep and push you but because it looks cool and JCVD and Jackie Chan do it in movies.
Flying Kicks are not done by a running start like those of Karate and Tae Kwon Do running start the flying kick....
in KungFu, it is done directly, or take a one step then flying kick...., the only important thing is that your KungFu moves especially the KungFu flying kicks are not telegraphic to the eye of the opponent.....
Note:
Simple, Direct, and To The Point......

What is a fly kick? A kick started from 10 meters away where you run and then jump and fly through the air? No not much street value there unless your target isn't looking..... but if all you mean is JUMPING kick then yes of course they have value, it's pretty much the same as doing it without jumping, you don't have to jump up in the air to be jumping, just a couple of milimeters gets the same projection of power and explosiveness.
I still don't understand why people that aren't proficient in certain things actually have an opinion on them.
