    Hello,

Every art has it’s advantages and disadvantages.

Today’s TKD, Olympic TKF, is a beautiful expression of a sport calling it self a MA.

ITF, even with the recent political shake-ups, has maintained a solid representation of what TKD is all about. You have to give credit to the ITF. They are the largest TKD organization that has not mutated them selves in order to cater to the public’s need for fast food McDojo TKD.

Then there is the independence, such as myself, that teach old school TKD. Old school TKD is a very complete art. You have strikes, throws, chokes, locks and weapons. We may not be pretty and appear not to be TKD when you first look at us, but this was TKD and remains TKD, one of the original forms.

Now, to address your inquiry – I would recommend Hapkido.

When complementing ones art with another art it is best to find another art that has somewhat of a similar MA doctrine. Hapkido is a very complete art and will compliment your striking art with locks and throws.

You could also find an OLD SCHOOL TKD.

    Good Luck and have fun!
