    ITA fellow...

    Dear ProudtobeITA,

Being as schooled as you are in the culture of the Oh Do Kwan (being that you claim to be certified by THE OH DO KWAN), you would recognize the official verbal salutation of both the Oh Do Kwan and Chang Hon Taekwon-Do...

Also, in 1971 Hyun Jung Myun was the President of the Oh Do Kwan, Jung Ahn Bon Kwan, Seoul, Korea. As with most organizations the President signs the certificates.

May I ask how you obtained certification through the Republic of Korea Military Training Gym and the name of your instructor at the time?

    TAEKWON! (your salutation),

      Allow me to stand corrected!

      Dear ITA Fellow,

To the best of my knowledge, Chang Tae Ik was never the Kwan Jang of the Oh Do Kwan...furthermore, you are not even familiar with the salutation of the gym you claim to have certified through...

What rank were you certified as in 1971, how old were you, and why do the words you speak not add up?

If you are being deceiving, that is not "Courtesy"...

And to answer you question regarding "when did Taekwon become some kind of battle cry"...Gen. Choi Hong Hi founder of the Oh Do Kwan incepted this concept well before 1971. Furthermore, if you tested in front of Mr. Kong (then 6th or 7th degree BB), you would have received and given the very salutation that you mock!

I await not only an answer, but an explanation!

      TAEKWON!

          Great Book (wrong thread)!

          Dear Electro,

That book was being inquired about in another thread...however, I dont see what application or "help" you are wishing to offer to this thread...

If I have overlooked something please let me know as I can immediately reference Gen. Choi's book (I have a copy as well!)...

              Electro...

              Sir,

I overlooked that post, and thank you for the clarification. The book cover you posted is actually the forerunner to the actual Encylopedia which was finalized in 1983. The book you inquired to was the original text of TKD and holds copyright of 1965. Another publication (more depth) holds copyright in 1973, and has since been reproduced with editing through 1998 or 1999 and is now known as the condensed encyclopedia. The actual encyclopedia is 15 volumes with over 30, 000 frames of photo!

Hope this adds to the inquiry regarding Gen. Choi and his TKD text!

P.S. Anyone seen proudtobeITA, I am still waiting for his explanation!

                Noob here...

I am not sure what your issue with the ITA is. To each his own.

Aside from the fact that the International TaeKwonDo Alliance is only one of countless organisations that are dedicated to the Art (and I know of two more ITAs off the bat), you have to agree, it is less then respectfull to go on (obviously) several internet forums to bash it.

You don't like it, that is fine, there are enough places out there that fit your bill. The ITA happens to fit mine...

And for future reference, add Storefront Beltmill to your list of insults, we do test rather often.

The organisation has it's drawbacks...but after all, founders and members are only human. But it has it's plus points as well...
