I dont know of any info, this is a Korean martial arts section. Katanas are japanese. Try asking them I am sure someone there can help.

But there is a Korean sword art like kendo, but its called Kumdo. And their swords are shaped a little different I think.

Really the're no sites that can show you how to properly use a katana. I would say look for a school around you, or if you have to, resort to books/videos. I really good book is, IAI art of Drawing the Sword, by Darrell Craig. many good vids can be ordered from bugei.com aswell.

I agree with LoneWolf, there is quite a few vids and books that can teach you but it's better to find a teacher someday. Look to see if your area offers Batto Jutsu or Kendo anywhere.

If looking for Korean sword arts check Farang Mu Sul, Dohap Sul or Shim Gum Do.
The last one can be found in New York area, first two in SF (M.DeAlba).

                  Hello my name is Damion.
I have read the post and decided to add my thoughts.
In regards to this question {I recently acquired a katana, and I am wondering where I can get information about properly training with it. I already know all the basic cuts and stuff, but I am looking for like a website or something with some info about different styles and techniques. If anyone has any info put a link up please!} I would say to ask your instructor about a weapons class. See if he teaches sword or if he has an instructor that will teach sword and start from there. This would be how I would go about it. In fact that is what I did because even though I knew the basic strikes, with the sword the instructor lead me to getting my forms down with the sword and after that it was all about how to use my weapon of choice.

                  Sincerely
                  Deamonwolfmoon

                    HOI JEON MOO SOOL instructor

Dear friend, i recomend you find a proper instructor, because you will need to know alot of things about art of sward which will be diffecult to ask if you use books or vedios...for the sward you need to learn alot of steps and moves with defferent directions in order to perfrom a proper way of dealing with the sward....yes you can learn some of techniques but not in details if you use books or vedios, but the only proper way in Martial Art is to belong to one Master.
