  • I used the poomse's last night to spar with...

So last night we were doing some free sparring pretty much anything goes (even joint locks! gasp!) besides eye gouging and nut shots. Anyhow, I was getting a little bored and tried to spice it up a little so I decided that all the attacks I would do would be from the Tae Geuks or the Palgwes.

You would NOT believe how well they work. I would do a combonation from the Poomse's and they seriously worked if I just committed them. It was great, I was laughing half the time as well as the other instructors. I just really couldn't believe that I was beating the other guy with my poomse forms. I used mostly Tae Geuk O, Sa, Sam, Chil, and Pal jang. And every once in a while, I threw in some Koryo. It was so funny. I even landed the jumping spinning kick combo from Palgwe 6. Ha! I have a new way to teach the importance of poomse's to our students now.

You should all give it a shot and see how it goes.
