So what do you think of the TKD punch? The TKD punch is bringing the fist up from the waist and then punching with a snap. I'm sure you've all done this in the traditional horse stance...

It seems to have power. It seems to have speed - M. Ali agrees.

    What do you guys think?

i'd take a jab over it. Although a reverse punch to a ridge hand does indeed suck.

Are you talking about like hitting someone face? or like punching a wall?

        My perfect senerio:

Some dumb crap idiot busts out into a horse stance (sitting stance ITF) to punch. FRICKEN FRONT SNAP KICK TO GROIN!

The sitting in a horse stance drill... ment to build leg muscles (that is why you sit there and do it over and over again) punching goes not come from the hip... if your hands are at your hips in TKD match you get kicked in face. If your hands are at your waist on street.. lets not go there.....

its ment to strengthen you, not as an actual hit, its more of "if you can get this kind of speed and power from the hip, then you'll do that much better when your guard is up"
