martial arts/sport

Can someone tell me the difference between what is a martial art and what is a martial sport?

to me one is self defense and the other is for gathering trophies.

In all "complete" arts you should find three elements:

Martial Art: The part that is pleasing to the eye. Fluid movements that incorporate personal artistic interpretation.

Martial Sport: In the ring, following set rules ...a test of skill.

Martial Science: Training that saves your (or someone elses) life.

...as always this is my opinion, for what it's worth.

He might not be.....but there are alot of things in his profile that lead me to believe so.First of he studys TKD....for 7 years....Needs a new Dojo....which is what tkd complained about....is 15 years old same age as tkd....and just signed up this month.

lol no im not tkd person. I'm foofies thats my first account here. My reall name is Fares. What esle dude.. mmm no i didnt study TKD for 7 years. this is my frist year in TKD. I have to cheak my profile n see about those 7 years your talking about. the only thing you got it right that i need a new dojo, and blitz if you know some good dojo in Amman please PM me it doesnt have to be TKD dojo.
