Attention anyone interested in reading about martial arts cults, and martial arts scams, conmen. There is a new book out called “Herding the moo” by Joe smith here is the link
http://www.trafford.com/4dcgi/robots/06-0269.html. It is a first hand account of life in the martial arts style of Chung Moo Quan, aka Chung Moo Doe, aka Oom yung doe. (These schools changed their names several times to avoid amongst other things Federal tax evasion charges.)
The leader of this martial arts cult also goes by several names John c. Kim, aka iron Kim, aka master iron Kim, aka jack parks, aka grandmaster iron Kim, aka chong su nim.
This book is a first hand account of a martial arts cult, from joining the cult, rising up through the ranks, instructing, and finally leaving. These stories seem funny, yet they capture the dangers of the belief systems and charisma that cult leaders install in you.
Here is the link again.
Among other things the leader of this cult sells himself, as the “Champion of all Asia”, teaching the royal style and having the ability to jump from a 11 story building, having a Asian headquarters, The ability to read the mind of any student that he has meet, even if that student is across the country.
The book sometimes reads as unbelievable, how could these students believe such crap, and looking back I was one of them, I got sucked into it also, it’s the old analogy of the frog in a pot of water, and the heat is slowly bringing the water to a boil, before you know it your cooked.
Any way anyone who was involved in this cult or heard of them, this book would be of interest to you.
These schools were nation wide, Chicago, Texas, MN, Boston, Florida, California, Wisconsin, Washington state.
Internationally Guam, Hawaii, Canada, Pusan, seoul, Australia.
