There lies the difference between you and me. I prefer more than 10% of realism in my training.

They don't mimic reality by not offering any impact resistance hence the reason why I think they suck. If you would prefer a different word how about "unrealistic" for my purposes.

However, I did mention in a previous post that I respect people will have a differing opinion to my own and that's fine by me. I will never like those pads, will never buy them, never use them nor make anybody else use them.

Students need various degrees of resistance against their techniques. From technique in the air at one end of the spectrum, to techniques against a solid wall mounted pad at the other, and everything in between, like various paddles and shields, mitts, etc. To think that one of these "sucks" is to be completely ignorant to it's purpose.

    Kindest Regards

That's the point I was trying to make in a previous post. Certain people here can't handle the fact that others don't agree with them.

Let it go dodge before you have a hernia.....

We spent a whole last night just kicking these, I think they are great for accuracy and really love these classes ... To each his own I always say ...

i use them for my student all the time, they say that it hurts if the strike is delivered wrong, i have noticed vast improvement in form, strength, and speed. i would let my words side with the clapper pads. younger student find it mroe satisfying, the 8-11 year old group is our biggest supporter. at that age, its good to congratulate them, or praise them often, builds confidence, and keeps them interested because they know they are doing something right. the praise they get from these pads are the loud pop/clap noise. clappers are the way to strike.

Yep, I guess I wish I could be as clairvoyant as you and be able to 'see' how successful other MA practioners are around the world.

Being that you have no idea how good (or bad) I am at kicking I will keep on assuming you don't know what you are talking about.

Oh, and the pads still suck.

Call it narrow minded if you like, the bottom line is those paddles suck!

This is a funny argument as a person who has done tkd,kb, and mma I own a clapper focus paddle, have owned a single one, own thai pads and focus mitts. What about a square hand target by the way lol. Think of it like a continum first paddles then mitts(or square hand targets) then thai pads or shields then heavy bags some kicks are better on different pads side kicks on thai pads are no good roud kicks are better on thai pads but I like shields two alot depends on the holder as well as the kicker. For punches foucus mitts (or square hand targets are the best. Paddles are more for technique and speed drills with a little bit of power. thai pads and sheilds are for moblie power development, bags are for stationary power development

Regardless of what anyone says to try and convince me, I will always think they suck becuse there are much better and more versatile pads out there to hit.
