  • Any body studied PE?

I think it's time to round out my education. With a broad spectrum of interests it's kind of hard to pinpoint anything down. Besides, I have responsibilities that cut into my time (well, being a Mom can do that to you)

I also spend two to three afternoons at the Dojang, not only working out but also studying to become an instructor.

Has anybody here gone past the traditional route from taking what was taught in MA tradition and taken it 'scientific'? It seems the curriculum is geared towards PE teachers (but they offer some sweet electives) I have no intention of doing school teaching (is bad enough to teach kids that want to be there, I'd be in trouble the first day out in the real world...)

(I have also considered more practical venues, like electrical and plumbing )

Not getting clear questions from that GranF.
Half my family are PE teachers, and there's often discussion over contemporary methodology.
What they discuss, is usually (BEING KIND) a couple of years behind 'cutting edge'

      Sorry...

I am training to be come an instructor. The curriculum insists of a lot of hands on (a minimum of 250 classes assisting and teaching, plus a whole lot of other stuff, like seminars at the tournaments)

I was wondering if somebody has taken it a step further in a general trainer/coach direction with a bit broader base. I mean, there is a lot to gain from other sports as well. I am trying to avoid 'barn blindness', not looking past the mat of my MA in my style (though I think their approach to the instructor quandrum is very good!)

I think what you should look into first, is safe practice!
MA generally, tend to endorse many 'banned'/'prehistoric' exercises.

Once you've eliminated those, you'll have a better idea of what to base your program on.
