What do you mean by bash the heck out of his neck?
I mean put a big hand across the back of his neck as hard as you can without making it a blatantly obvious 'strike'. Then jerk his neck around like you are trying to make the head fall off.
Thanks for the advice. I was chatting with him awhile ago and when I asked him what was the problem with my shot, he said I was too straight when I shot so that he could've easily blocked it, and said that I schould be bent over more. So how can I tell if my posture is too straight when I shoot and how can I tell how bent over I should be?
God bless you jubaji. you have the patience of a saint
I'm also practicing takedowns with ankle weights on will this help in making my takedown faster?
A person who is said to be proficient in the arts is like a fool. Because of his foolishness in concerning himself with just one thing, he thinks of nothing else and thus becomes proficient. - Hagarkure

Bjjexpertise@be it may be a good idea if you can film or take a picture of your stances and we could critique. There are different tactics for TDs. If you are actually shooting vs locking up and getting the legs. It sounds like you are still telegraphing your shot. You should probably be at 130-140 degrees vs 160
Also, learn arm drags i think it will help alot

You shouldn't be "bent", you should be in a compact posture. If you play baseball, think about shrinking the strike zone. Keep your shoulders rounded and your neck slightly bulled. The important thing to keep in mind is that your shoulders should never be further forward than your knees. Keep an imaginary line from your shoulders to your knees, and don't break this vertical plane. If you are standing up too straight you will also break the plane in the opposite direction.
Now in reality you won't always keep this posture of course, but its a good thing to keep in mind as a habit.

Don't play baseball so I have no idea what "shrinking the strike zone" means.
So I should jus try to stay as compact as possible when I go for the takedown?

I couldn't get any audio on that clip, so I don't know if there was some explanation for it, but you will NOT go to a knee before making your penetration step. That guy seemed to be making sure to touch his knee to the mat before taking a penetration step. Might as well scream "shot!" just before you attempt a takedown. Now, he might have been doing that as a drill to make sure you lower your level, but as I said I couldn't get audio to hear any explanation.
