Originally posted by Bjjexpertise@be The thing about the double leg is that it is more strength based, either i'm not used to relying on pure strength yet or i'm not doing it right. once you get into position you are supposed to lift him straight of the ground, while your knees are on the ground, and drop him on his side and go for side control. But the thing is i found this move gets more and more difficult as their weight goes up and along with them flailing for escape, it's nearly impossible.
the drop step isnt just being on your knees. I always kept weight on my toes so i could DRIVE off. If you are just falling on your knees your dropstep sucks. Also try offbalancing him, do a russian doubleleg. Try to cut their knees out from them instead of picking them up. It takes speed and penetration. Keep working, perfect your drop step. Drop step all the time. Get good wrestlers to critique it. DROP STEP DROP STEP DROP STEP! it's not fall on knee it step, it's change level and ready to explode step.
Yea I guess I got the mental and everything so I suppose that it's all about experience now.
hohoho We'll see about that...
Here I'll strike a deal with you jubaji, if i am dropping weight on purpose anytime after today for the sake of winning a few matches, I'll mail you a autographed photo by yours truly and if you lose....You buy me a pony.

Sorry, jubaji, I wasn't trying to be a dick. I just couldn't help myself b/c I knew he'd put on weight and he did.
No, no. You're entitled to your opinion, and frankly its much safer for young folks not to lose too much weight. I realize that. But, I would like to know how many folks, including yourself, put on weight and were more successful in your wrestling experience ('success' measured in championships, not healthy self-esteem ). I've known people who have done so, but they are in the great minority. Just curious.
p.s. I'm pretty confident about winning this bet, as I can wait until the end of his entire wrestling career, and if he loses so much as a few pounds---I win! Assuming he doesn't puss-out and quit, I've got a good shot.
