If you are serious about training, I would find someother that are also serious and lift, run and roll. Talk to your, if you have a dedicated wrestling room, nuff said if not well see if you can get time on the weekend or 1-2 during teh week. And definately save your money and look at so wrestling camps go online or check with your coach.

    • Where are you located? We might be able to recommend some good camps for this summer. Its worth the time and money to go. You'll be surprised how much of a difference there is at the start of the next season between the guys who put the time/effort in and the ones who watched TV and toked up all summer.

      • I live in Florida, if you could find some camps in NC or SC or Georgia that'd be great.

        • If you are smart you will attend the camp run by Carl Adams. There are several locations (one in FL). You will not find a better camp on the East Coast, and you would be very hard pressed to find a better coach than Carl Adams anywhere! Do yourself a solid--attend one of these camps. When I was just a wee lad in Jr High I attended my first one and it really made a difference throughout my time on the mat.

              • I checked out the website, It sounds cool but it sounds like a school for kids with wrestling on the side more than anything else.

Not at all! I can tell you 'cause a lot of the guys I wrestled with when I was at BU are instructors there. Its the real thing. Coach Adams sometimes has some of the top coaches and US Olympic wrestlers as guest instructors. I don't know how expensive it is, but I can't imagine you'd find a better one. I attended the camp for the 2nd time after my freshman year of high school and it was not 'play time' for the kids (ok, this was several millenia ago but you get the idea)

                  • I'll see how expensive it is and then we'll see. Only 4 practices left. I'm the only JV guy going to practive. Those sorry bastards will be a bit behind next year.

Yea I agree. The takedown thing is nagging me. The other wrestlers tell me I should go down to one knee(level Change) Before i do the penetration step. You here tell me to level change and step at the same time. I find yours to be quicker but I always seem to be cross faced when i do it. If i try going down to one knee first, it takes enormous amounts of strength to step, it will also be slow too. So here's the question, when they say level change do they mean drop to one knee or just lower yourself? And just help me solve this problem. I don't know which to do now.

They should be suggesting you lower your level. If you go all the way to a knee first, you might as well just lie down on your back!

Listen to us. The problem is, I suspect, mainly not your shot but your set-up.
