Hehe, I jumped in the middle of the discussion and didn't check the beginning.

All I saw was "double leg," and my own ideas took over.

      • Ipon I'll do what you say and start working on my cardio.

So jubaji, I'm supposed to lower my level, step, and penetration step at the same time? No wonder folks could sprawl on me, I"ve been doing it step by step .

Don't feel bad about it, that's how you learn to do it at first. But at some point you've got to put it all together to become fluid and quick. Combine that with a good setup and you're UNSTOPABLE! DO YOU HEAR? UNSTOPABLE!!!MWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Listen to Mr. Ipon about the cardio. And don't forget the 7 shot rule.

If you continue to take decent shots, if you take up to 7 unanswered shots, you will get a takedown. Unless he takes you down first of course. I've yet to get to 7. What does this mean? Keep the pressure on, and if you get stopped or stuffed, recover and resume immediately. The game's not over if you take one shot and it doesn't work out. Recover and resume. The seven shot rule will not fail you.

                • And because of my awesome skills, they'll have to pair 2 heavyweight state runnerups against me at the same time just to make it fair(due to my insane skillz).

Now you're talkin'! That attitude should be sending you out for some road work right-F-ing-now.

                    • Oh and I was wondering if I should change my fighting style to be as aggresive as possible. So far I've made sure each and every move I make is calculated and timing. This tactic works with some but not all(For instance there was this one kid who came in during mid season and he just flails as wild as possible when he's on the ground and this seemsto be kicking my ass) so I've been wondering if I should be more aggresive.

Of course you must be aggressive. But that doesn't mean reckless. No wasted movements, no wasted energy, and no wasted opportunities.

                        • So I can do constant attack as long as I'm not expending my energy on useless actions?

                            • I'm having a little difficulty with this problem. My training partner is kind of bent over enough to prevent my shooting but not bent down enough for me to head lock. The problem is that he excels in the neck and elbow clinch. I've been trying to do the 'duck under' method to escape but he ties me in tight with his head pressed tight against mine. What should I do in this situation?

Don't tie up with him, but start your set up at just the point where he attempts to secure the tie. Bash the heck out of the back of his neck (if you really can snap him into a front headlock, so much the better!) and maybe try an arm drag. Even if these don't work in themselves, they should necessitate a response that can open other options for you. Get physical. Try to initiate something just as he reaches (he'll reach a little) to secure that tie.
