Nice clip. I'm not even that big into BJJ, but you can't help but like the guy.

Kung fu expert eh.... From what this expert showed of striking anyone with almost any experience in a boxing or any striking art could have taken him out much quicker then royce did.

Royce is quite amazing with ground fighting but still not the best by any means. But if he had focused a little more on stand up he could have been a great contender.

i know!..they both had inexperianced stances! i think they were both students of the same guy...and the sensei was jsut having them spar to see what they knew...cuz i know the gracie is good and that kung fu is more then that,........i think the cameraman was 100% totally lying BIG TIME!

YOu may very well be right because both had much room to improve upon.

Royce was 18 at the time.He has no intention of standing and striking.
All he wants is to get him to the ground. It was pretty obvious that the Kung Fu guy was clueless once he hit the ground. So where else would Royce want him to be?

The ground is my ocean and I am a shark. That is the way BJJ is played.

                          strikers that dont strike

15 yrs of kung fu experience makes me think that the kung fu fighter would not have let royce move in so linearly and force the ground match. i mean, NO side stepping, no effort whatsoever to evade the take down. it looked to me that the kung fu expert was willing to fight on the ground with a much more expereinced royce. in the end, i would say he was pretty much schooled, but i dont really see this particular clip as representative of "kung fu vs. bjj', though i have enjoyed watching it about 10 times. thanks for the clip!!!!

I have to agree that the Kung fu guy was a joke.A good olympic TKD guy would have put up a better fight.
