It sounds as though maybe you have trained your cousin to thwart your attack.Maybe your attack is fine its just that your teammate /cousin has gotten used to your style. The proof would be against someone that is not used to you.

The best tecnique against the double leg (highschool) takedown that I have seen was to turn and run (powerfully) and leave them spreadout flatfaced on the matt!

But maybe also learn some other throws /takedowns besides just the one ,that is where wrestling and bjj ends and Judo takes over.

If you want to do judo moves without the gi, you're gunna have to be really damn good to do so. I need to make my shoot faster, are there any exercises that can help me do that?

            Short interval sprints.

Leg work in the weight room.

            Better set-ups.

Yeah basic Judo 101.Bjj guys will just lay down on the mat.How athletic!
And your average wrestler double leg takedown ,any high schooler knows that, although it can be effective. Are you talking street or sport?
If you have no clothing to grab it makes it harder. With Judo the sky's the limit in attacks.

                  Yes.

Also, shuttle-type sprints between points fixed at different intervals.

Jubaji are you a wrestler that defends bowing? How amusing.

Wrestlers are so limited in their attacks, because they don't have much to hang onto.

I know a guy that was the heavyweight for the 1980 Olympic Judo team.
They were over in Japan preparing and his friend got both his ankles broke by a Japanese guy with a throw. The guy (Miguel) told me he was so pissed that he went out and beat the Japanese Champ with a doubleleg takedown!
So it can be very effective. But it is expected alot in wrestling and Ju-jitsu.
I saw the same guy Miguel turn and run out of the same type of attack leaving the attacker all splayed out facedown. This is at the highest levels of competition.Just an observation.

I merely 'defend' the position that you are a numbskull.

I already know you are ignorant, you don't have to keep proving it.

Highest level of what competition? Jr High? If you saw such a thing, the person shooting was a chump and the 'competition' was a joke. I guess that would be pretty high level for you.

Our 1980 Olympic Judo heavyweight. Over in Japan training by competing with Japan's Judo team?
I wasn't in Japan but I saw him take college wrestler types and literally toy with them. The college wrestler was 280lbs I thought he did the doubleleg takedown very well against me,traveling at least ten or fifteen feet but Miguel just kind of powerered out by turning and sort of running but he was a very powerfuul guy at 235lbs
It amounts to what your opponent expects. And when that opponent is your teammate they know you inside and out.You get a better idea of your skill level in contest against the unknown, where they don't know you.
