I see it this way, the guards were protecting others and themselves from possibly two agressive drunks and did which comes natural which is to subdue violence. People tend to forget, no matter how friendly someone may seem, when they get drunk a lot of people either get stupid, get violent, or both. Just seems like another case of such to me and if his family loved him so much and used common sense to realize how dangerous bars are and knew that getting drunk caused problems, then they would have just gone home instead of trying to get wasted.

I'm not a bouncer so I honestly don't know but isn't it their job to get the rifraff out of the establishment and let the police handle any altercations outside of the bar? Maybe it's all the movies I've seen where a bar owner or a bouncer goes up to unruly patrons and says, "take it outside". Perhaps the bouncers should've left it up to the police to deal with any altercations on the street instead of interceding.

You are correct, bouncers are only allowed to restrain, not strike in any means or form whatsoever...they were out of line. Ive been body slammed by a bouncer who chased me all the way to the next parking lot just because we weren't getting off the property at 2am after the bar because we were waiting for someone, a couple of my friends got harrassed and beat up by them as well, some of them are just on a power trip and thats it...
