Originally posted by HandtoHandAre you nuts, a snap kick to the nuts will not stop a determined opponent. As far as the quickest way to drop an opponent it depends on the sitituation, range and opponent, so to say that one technique is the best in all situations in foolishness.
Besides, a kick to the nads DOES hurt, it DOES make you bend over, the average thug is likely to have a conditioned head/neck than have practised taking nad shots. A 'determined' opponent won't be stopped by actually being KO'd himself.
I'd say a good hard cross to the jaw/nose.

personally I'd always go with the cross though, or finger jab to the neck.

Well after they kick the opponent in the nuts, they are supprised when the opponent keeps on coming and doesnt stop.
A hard punch to the jaw will work on anybody IF they have their hands down, and they come straight at you, and they don't duck, and you know how to punch well, and, and , and.
A kick in the nuts will work too, IF all the stars line up for you.
An eye gouge, or a pressure point, or some kinda judo chop will work too - again, IF the situation is just right for that technique and you are able to apply it.
The REAL answer to the question is; no one technique or set of techniques will work all the time. You need:
1)a style appropriate for self defense
2)practice on the techniques and
3)LIVE CONTACT SPARRING
All three of those plus many hours of work in order to give yourself a dependable advantage in a 'street' fight.
Or, you could just be a natural ass-whooping animal... but if you were, then you probably wouldn't be here asking for advice.
