Most people here seem to think that if a striker engaged with a streetfighter the 90% of fights going to the ground would not be true. So what amount would you would end up on the ground? I am still guessing a high amount since most street fights begin with a grappling attack and with the momentum of him going towards you it is easy to end up there. If you are also come from a striking style then you probaly would not know how to defend the takedowns. Besides that Mike Tysons street fights have gone to the ground along with several other boxers that are known to get into street fights. Also Rodney King said most of his street fights went to the ground and he is considered one of the best stand up coaches in the world. What do you guys think?

Sorry just wanted some new discussion to spice up the forum since personally I think the forum has been going slow and I did not want to make another style vs style thread. But all you need to know for self defense is catepillar humps grass, eagle claw, and butterfly kick. Convinced?!?

i know this might seem like a stupid question but is this the rodney king that got his ass kicked by the cops ??? dood CKD its a proven fact that the fights go to the ground A LOT of the time.. so the point of grappling is to put you at an advantage over another person that doesnt know the ground game.. i personally think grappling is great because the odds are in yer favor.. i honestly right now dont remember yer exact thread so if i went off on something that is irrelivant to this subject them forgive me.. haha anyways yeah thats my 2 cents

No Rodney King is not the person that got beat up by the cops. I am talking about Rodney King of the Straight Blast International who's mma team is the best one in south america and is considered one of the best standup coaches in the world and has worked with many great mma fighters.

Anyways from my expierence i would estimate that 85% of the physical confrontations that i have been involved in over the years have gone to the ground. Anyways i am currently practicing a doctrine of using other techniques to avoid fighting, and avoid it because i am more mature, and because i've gotten suspended enough times this year, and they'd love to suspend me again.
Which is very stressful because there is one twirp who i would love to pound. OHH the PAIN.
