  • Pro-wrestler Goldberg to fight in Pride

It all depends on his preparation. If all he did was lift weights, he might beat a medicore unheard of fighter. Against anyone else, it'll be another freak show event where some well known guy slaps him around for a few rounds and then sinks in a submission.

If he's been training with a guy like Shamrock, then I'd say he'll make a great show!

Yes I agree that if PRIDE throws him a jabroni (such as another pro wrestler)Goldberg could do well. However if they put him in the ring against any of the PRIDE stars he would be demolished. Because when it comes down to it, 5 months isn't enough time to switch from being a stuntman to a full contact fighter.

Lol hes a actor... Was a football player, yes he might be pretty big but hes gonna get his assed handed to him with anyone he fights. I really hope they put him in with someone good so he gets out quicker. I would hate for pride to a get Sapp like contender in its ranks. It makes a joke of the whole sport.

Yea, Goldberg should try himself in Pride. Dont forget that he is 1 of the 100 strongest people in history of sport.

Nathan Jones was a former world's strongest man competitor and he lost. Goldberg has no talent and no training. He will get killed. He couldn't even escape a simple front face lock from Chris Jericho back stage.

            First,
Even backstage at WWE is fake. Its acting, nothing more.

Second, Does anybody here know (for real) how Goldberg trains? If not, it's foolosh to judge someone by fake entertainment TV broadcasts or on someone elses accomplishments.

This was not a backstage vingette for TV, it was an off camera fight. Not an angle, a genuine disagreement between two guys. Jericho and Goldberg had a dislike for each other going back to WCW. Somethings were said and Goldberg grabbed him by the throat. Jericho slapped on a front face lock and took him down. Goldie was helpless until help arrived.

World Wresting Entertainment is rehearsed. All of it.

If Goldberg fights in Pride, then we'll both see.

This is correct. Back in WCW Jericho wanted to do a storyline with Goldberg. Goldberg however thought he was too much of a star for Jericho and refused to do the story line. When Goldberg joined WWE one day he made some comment to Jericho about Jericho being short and a little tussel happened. This was a real altercation backstage, not part of the TV show. They did however make up after the fight, seeing as how both of them had major money to lose if either of them got kicked out of the WWE.

I don't think this is much of an indication of Goldberg's fighting ability. The confrontation wasn't an all-out fight and I don't think any punches were thrown.

                        Only got one chance.

I dunno much about Goldberg, or WWE, but I think he has more going for him then most people give him credit for. The man is wicked strong, well conditioned, extremely fast on his feet, and has taken more punishment to the body then most MMA fighters ever will. Everyone knows football is a hardcore sport that puts alot of physical strain on the body. what most people dont see is that though Pro Wrestling is staged and pre planned, that alot of very hard shots are taken from falling, acrobatic techniques, mis timmed attacks and the occasional pissing contest between 2 of the "fighters" The wrestler Vampiro aka Ian Hodgekinson is crazy strong with a huge MA background. His threshold of pain is crazy. The mans broken his neck in the WCW ring, hes injured his shoulder, and hes still able to fight hard. Those "fake" chairs, "fake" tables, "fake" bats sticks and all other "fake" props still hurt and can seriously injure someone.

The mans pain tolarance is probably higher than any PRIDE fighters, and his football background has probably given him incredable balance speed and timing. Dont underestimate his training either, everyone knew Royce Gracie couldnt beat the big strong strikers, everyone knew that Maurice Smith couldnt beat such a powerfull grappler like Mark Coleman. Every master grandmaster, expert and such knew they could not be beaten in the UFC days of old, everyone knew, a sloppy untrained street fighter like Tank Abbotcould never beat a martial artist, what else do we know?

I saw a fight between gary goodrich and chief dan george(I think thats his name) Big daddy threw two punches and the guy quit. Just because they guy has a lot of power doesnt mean shit. Yeah he can hit hard but a trained fighter can hit hard too and can take it as well.
