Do you think there should be a certain time in rank required before moving on to the next rank? Or do you believe that the student should be proceeded up in rank as he learns the techniques and shows proficiency in the art no matter how fast that might be? The reason I ask is I have been averaging about a belt a month. None of the other students are moving up even close to that speed. It seems a little fast but then again I am learning all my techniques and I have prior experience in martial arts. If everyone was moving up at this speed I would be a little concerned that the school was a mcdojang. All of the techniques I am being shown I have atleast a little prior experience with so it makes it very easy I just have to do them the hapkido way and make little changes as my instructor encourages. The other martial arts I have studied are taekwondo, submission grappling, highschool wrestling, and boxing.
