You might want to post this thread in the kungfu section.

Yea, umm that's pretty cool. I saw Kurt Thomas use a pommell horse to beat up an entire village in Gymkata, and Lee Van Clef used his Ninja skills to defeat an entire bar of truckers in the 80's tv show The Master. So I guess the best thing to do is become a gymnast ninja right?

        Wrong.

That was the best thing to do from 1982 to 1987. If you followed MA genre, you would know the next fad was Van Damme...so you give up your ninja costume, practice the splits between two coconut trees, avenge your Shidoshi's death and beat up a buff Chinese powerlifter in the Hong Kong kumite while running into your twin brother seperated at birth during underground challenge matches....until 1996,

NOW you can go on about being able to kick like Jet Li, Ken Lo, Yuan Biao, Jackie Chan and other famous MA actors.

Are you a tae kwon do practitioner? It would help....especially having formal instruction.

Instruction only slows you down. I suggest renting DVD's of River Dance and the Rockette's, that will teach you to kick! And maybe a good rendition of Swan Lake, I saw a ballet dancer keep her leg in a mid air splits for like 10 minutes once!

Now seriously I am one of the last people around to pick on someone. But this is just too much, someone using a movie as reference material? In an MMA and BJJ forum? Besides we are just having a little fun with the boy.

As I understand it most ballet dancers training consists of bullemia and stretching. Lots of stretching.

Like the other guys suggested, if you want to get better at something you have to do it more often and focus on doing it better each time.

Well, that were all the troubles starts.
No matter how much Zeus trains doing such kicks it will sucks.
It would be like jabbing away while away no body movement and coordinations.
even in the jab, fighter 'put' the shoulder and 'step' fowards' power behind the jab to give it some power.
basically the only thing behind such 'kicks' is no power.
Zeus try kicking a punching bag using such kicks. It will not move by much.
But if you try to kick a punching bag by putting both feet down each time and getting some 'momentum'/body/leg support behind the striking kick, you should notice the punching bag moving a bit more than the 'jab' kick you think is so 'flashy'.
Practicing on punching bag is good thing to test movie moves.
