Hello All,

I'm starting Gjj next month,, Relson's school is pretty close to me here in the bronx nyc... funny thing is I search the web and out off all the gracies he seems to be the less commercial meaning not alot of advertisements nor tapes, interveiw, all that stuff, .. now it's my understanding that blue & purple belts run the dojo.. I'm assuming this is normal ,, then you get promoted by whom? a coach/assistant.. just wanted some things cleared up. I'm giving them a call later today,, or my stop by,

Stop by and see how the dojo is run. There are a lot of "Gracie Jiu-Jitsu" schools out there where the gracie whose face is on the side of the buliding doesn't do the teaching, but you still end up paying a huge tuition.

If it turns out that blues and purples ARE teaching the dojo, you might want to see what other options are avalable in your area. Don't get me wrong, blues/purples know a lot about BJJ, but they're not usually in the same league as black belts or experienced browns.

Yes, he does teach in Hawaii, that's why I posed the question about the purple belt and blue belts that may run the class. I didn't get a chance to call the school back, but I will today or tommorrow,
