  • Are there still authentic Vale Tudo ?

    Guys,

who knows whether in Brazil, or in some other country, there are still authentic Vale Tudo competitions, with as little rules as there were back in the first IVT and UFC in the early 1990s?

Just curious to know.... I think those fights were the ones that proved the effectiveness of Gracie JJ and Muay Thai against other styles.

Authentic is a difficult word to describe Vale Tudo.
The same way I would describe authentic italian pizza/pasta would not be authentic to your experience.
However, you want to know about the vale tudo, the mecca event in Brazil is pretty big maybe you should have a look that way.
But I do not think they are as little rules as back in the early UFC, however better figthers (also from the BJJ background) are taking part but I am not a big fan of GJJ so I will not know much about their latest sucess in the Mecca event.
If you want to survive in the Mecca, you have to strike and grapple.
