All I can say is, if it wasnt for Tyson, I wouldn't have become a boxing fan at such an early age. I remember his HBO days when he was the baddest thing going. Dont know what screwed his head up so bad but you got to admit, even with his latest failures over the past several years, in his prime he was probably the best there ever was.

All crap aside, he may have a shot in mma. He would of course have to learn to survive leg kicks and ground work, but man the thought of catching a Mike Tyson uppercut to the face when you shoot his legs would certainly keep you honest. K1 has started an MMA off-shoot of there Kick-boxing franchise, and Bob Sapp has already proven that you don't really have to be good at anything to stay employeed and make money with K1.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think he'll be the man or anything, but it would make for some interesting fights. Plus we would get to see it for $29.99 instead of $39.99. If you normally get MMA PPVs you know you would have to get one that featured Tyson(potential knock-out, potential train wreck). Dude is friends with Ortiz, so he already has someone that can help him with training.

            Torn Meniscus

I've never been a big fan of Tyson's, and when I first heard about his knee injury I thought it was an excuse. However, the replay was on tonight, and, while I missed the fight itself, afterward Showtime reported that he had arthroscopic surgery on a torn meniscus yesterday. I had that same surgery several years ago after tearing it sparring. I can say that if his injury was like mine, it not only influenced the outcome, it decided it. I could barely walk on mine, let alone finish sparring. Given that he finished the fight, I would say that mine was more serious, but they showed pictures of him leaving the hospital in a cast, while I did not require one. Furthermore, his doctor said that his rehab would take 8 - 9 weeks, while I was running within less than a week. Part of that was because I was 16 and stupid. However, comparing the treatment and recovery times, perhaps he did have a painful and serious injury but simply "toughed it out." Interesting -- after the way he responded to being cut in the 1st Holyfield fight, I never thought of him as a guy with a lot of heart once the intimidation factor either didn't work or wore off.
