  • Who are you like??

Hey guys ...just wonderin...If you guys had to compare your "fighting style" to a pro fighter...Who would it be??

For me I'd say...Pedro Rizzo/Bas Rutten with better takedowns..

    What about you guys?

    Me? Renzo Gracie.

But I'm a much better puncher ... and a much worse grappler

    Yours truly,

    Joe

          For me......

A combination of Oleg Taktarev, Steve Jennum, and Remco Pardoel.

          .....before you start laughing.........

I think I have a "spurty" ground grappling style like Taktarev's.....technically sound, but I appear inert and ungraceful.....until going for the move....where I'm more "explosive".

Reflexively, I'm kind of like Jennum: nothing high, don't waste too much time with kicks....but my reaction time is sharp and I respond quickly to any movement on the feet. Like Jennum, I'm not the best striker on the ground.

Takedown-wise, I usually end up reverting to a traditional Judo platform.....ala Remco Pardoel. In this way, I'm not practical and prefer to go for the "power" throw for damage, rather than the prudent wrestling takedown. It's a little weakness of mine.

            I am LMFAO.

"south paw version of IGOR VOVCHANCIN", yeah right. Dream on Doucheman.

"....Bas Rutten with better takedowns." Bwahahahaha. LMFAO!

Hopefully no one here takes this as me saying I'm an 1/18th as good as Renzo, but I have to say I fight like him. Small, grappler based, will throw blows but don't expect to get KOed [unless you're Larcymosa, the equivelent to Oleg :-P], and while grappling I do tend to get myself in trouble because in my life I can never be a GnPer. By trouble I mean how Renzo got himself in that one near submission from Tamura or the Kimura he got from Sak. I guess I fight like him because he's my favorite fighter...

I think I would resemble Royler Gracie,
although much less skilled (on the ground).

Fabio Gurgel/Ralph gracie on the ground.

                    Ruas on my feet.

nowhere near the skill level though.

My style is like Marcelo Tigre... wild brawling + BJJ ground & pound.

Don't know. I can kind of "mirror" lots of fighters though.

Uh... I'm a mix between maybe Mark coleman, (a really bad Mark Coleman) Koichiro Kimura (from vale tudo 2 but don't panic half as much ahha) and maybe...Shoji in a way.

That's about as honest as I can get. Though I can do the Vitor Belfort "ground and pound on John Hess" and it looks nearly identical

I fight a lot like a combination of a Popeye in his prime, combined with a sort of Bart Simpson (for the cunning...)with maybe a touch of Bugs Bunny (when I end up cross dressing to fool the bad guy.)
