If my arm happens to get under, i either prefer to put 1 knee in the middle of their back on the ground, straight my back up while driving my arm that is out into their throat fingers in an arrow.

I also like to wrap the leg my arm goes under with my head and hands, and pick them up and pull backwards where they are on their head, then throwing legs around and passing.

Best of all i just prefer not to get caught in it at all if they have a good one

It is possible to get out of an excellent BJJ'ers triangle but not likely. Tony had good advice, also I have seen Townsend Saunders break out of several triangles from Andre Pedenaris by digging in his elbow into their sternum and driving forward, this probably worked for him because he smothered Andre against the fence in the process. Even though this is dirty it is the best way to get out of a triangle honestly, powerbomb! Thats right pick them up and slam them! Obviously I don't do this in practice but if I really wanted out then I would slam. Also getting straight back posture and pinning their hips to the floor will stop a lot of triangles. Most of all when it comes to triangles, the best prevention is not even giving them the chance to triangle in the first place by blocking their legs.

If someone tries to slam me I switch it up to an armbar. If I feel he still may slam me I will release it and just drop to the ground and take him down again.Maintain contact as you drop.Under hook a leg and use your legs to get a figure 4 take down.

if i haven't locked the triangle in i'll also release and go for an arm, or wrap a leg and try and throw them off balance... sometimes when going off balance they'll drop back to their knees and that's when i try again to lock the triangle in...
