Your point is well taken and your English is just fine. I think the point behind grappling arts, especially as a suppliment to "standing arts", is to counter the situation, which you presented where the guy ends up on the ground "wondering what's happening." If he or she knew what to do on the ground, then he or she'd be better prepared if he or she found him or herself in that position. Wing chun is fine, and I perfectly understand your point that an attacker who can't see isn't going to continue the fight. But everyone makes mistakes. Everyone gets a lucky shot. What if you end up on the ground?

BTW, what is your first language?

I came from a fairly rough section of Houston (Tidwell and Mesa) I have seen the so called " 1 on 1 "street fights go about 50% to the ground and in those cases it was when the larger slower fighter got tired of getting tattoo'd by a smaller guy and chasing him around in circles. but as has been stated with the "Ghetto" mentality it is sometimes in your best interest to stick and move. but no matter what the percentage if you DO go to the ground then what happens if u are unprepared???

coincidentaly one of my Foreman ( a tough Bastard) was Marine Recon who told me that of his many fights in and out of the bars the only time him and his buddys got their ass handed to them was not by Navy Seals or Army Rangers but by a bunch of Greek merchant sailors!, so nothing is for certain in a fight, as in life.
