  • A fast brocken nose

If you want a fast victory and more damage to your opponent you can use this move: punch your opponent with an opened hand from down to up where the nosedrills are. Then move does not requaire lot of strenght so if you will not miss every thing should be ok (atleast for you)
(pardon my english so if you have any questions about this move or you need my consultations,-just mail me at zhet@e-apollo.lv)

So you're basically saying a palm strike to the nose right? Yeah, that'll definitely give someone a bloody nose even if it doesn't break. Good move, simple but effective.

A longboard did this to me once.

Not only an instant bloody nose, but also a trip to the hospital for stitches because the pressure split open my nostril too.

The best part was calling my mum and saying "I had an accident, dad's driving me to the hospital now for stitches..." and having her just crack up - laughing so hard she couldn't talk!

      Poor, poor Cakegirl...

This reminds me of the myth that if hit hard enough in the nose it will back up into the brain and kill you.

Not only that, but I've had my nose broken 3 times while continuous sparring. The first time I had to stop, but the second two times I could just keep going without even worrying about it. Once you know you can keep going, even with a broken nose..its one less thing you have to worry about. Braking someones nose is not a victory, all you did was break their nose. You have to do a lot more than that to stop most people.

The average wanna-be tough guy though sure won't be happy to see a lot of blood pouring all over his shirt. It's a good intimidation thing. You can definitely keep fighting with a broken nose, though, it just inhibits your breathing a little bit and bleeds a good bit, but it's not that serious.

You are correct that it is a myth that you can drive the nose into the brain to kill someone, since the nose is made of cartiledge and not bone. There is also bone behind the nose preventing access to the brain. However with force a upward palm heel to the nose can cause death. It can create a closed head injury by making the brain bruise and swell from impacting on the front and back of the skull. This swelling can cause blindness, loss of muscular control, loss of consiousness, and death.

Couldn't any head shot delivered with adaquate force cause this situation? Not that the palm-heel to the nose wouldn't be a fine way to hit someone, but is there really an advantage (other than potential hand injury) to the palm strike over say, the time-honored left cross? err, I mean right cross for you wrong-handed people.

I've forgotten how many times I've broken my nose.

                    I still look purty though!

Lost the other post I did when the computer crashed so here is a shorter one

The body cannot absorb as well the impact from an upward moving blow, much like the force of an uppercut.

At least with a hook the body can turn with the hit to minimize the impact.

But if the body doesn't move they are going down from either shot.

Any hard or severe head shot can cause great harm, that is why it is called a concusion.
