  • Kung Fu vs. Mixed Martial Arts

The Kung-Fu guy was clearly an amateur, for instance the first and only kick was to the MMAists arm at his side, a covered part of his body. The kick was wasted and left him vulnerable. I'd like to see the same video with an experienced Kung-Fu man.

    Good one though.

There's no such thing as an "experienced Kung-Fu man."

      I'm just playin'...or am I?

it was like a powerpuff girl versus chyna doll. two fags. kung fu boy shoulda been packing a fold out, he could have won when he got his legs over chyna's head.

He actually claimed to be a kung fu grandmaster and went to the MMAist's school and challenged HIM.

Check out the other video in the style vs. style competition. There's some hot chicks in zee audience

Also, despite what they say, it makes both styles look bad. The drunken boxer was not paying attention. At the same time, the other guy didn't drop him. Talk about whimpy kicks.

Well he did not move like a grandmaster...

Have you seen the video of the White Crane vs Tai Chi masters? It was appalling - they couldn't punch to save their lives, their hands were down near their waists. I'd be very sceptical about anyone calling themselves a grandmaster who hasn't actually proved it.

Maybe that kung fu guy was drunk? He did two rather common-sense non-no's that everyone should learn the first day in class. For one, always keep up a guard. Two, don't walk in so upright like that; get into a stance, like the MMA guy was in.

Also, what the hell is the difference between "mixed martial arts" and kungfu anyhow?? If you study a legit kungfu fighting style, that has actual boxing and kicking in it, and then also study a Chinese grappling art, and are rather proficient in both, then aren't you too a "mixed martial artist?"

That kungfu guy though looked EXACTLY like the kung fu dodos at my university; skinny as all hell, black uniforms, no real power in their movements, etc...
