The training methods of Judo were what seperated it from Ju-Jutsu. The Brazilian style uses the same training methods. They didn't develope a new style they only tweaked the rules to fit their own game. Like I said you can call a "thing" by any name you choose...

Sea water is a watermelon, watermelon is a cloud and chimps are people... there's only a 2% difference. What's the big deal?

Yes, I know that and you know that.
The local Judo club actually had an open no gi submission fight and we all had good fun.
They had the rules about lifting your opponent once you get got in a subs(e.g triangle, arm bar) and stoppage back to stand up once things get interesting on the ground to my liking.
But compare to the JJJ participants (boring sumo wrestling stuff, really), the Judokas refuse to go on the ground and the BJJ fighters were just enjoying it really on the ground.
Even if BJJ won most stuff, full respect for the Judo club to host and invite others for a bit of fun..
