I say if you can get the "choke slam", use it.
But just remember its against the law to choke people in many countries and states.
So if the cops ever ask you,You were just trying to hold onto them to prevent injury to yourself.
well, the undertaker is also a biker. i wouldnt be surprised at all if he has in fact been in many fights, hanging out at biker bars and whatnot.

      The thing is.
Just because people have been in fights, doesnt mean they not afraid of being hit.And when your playing for keeps and dont have 30 of your mates around to cover your ass,Its a different story.
Its just you and them no one else.

Big Show scars me. His hands are twice as large as my head. I always wonder what can be done to fight a man that large that knows how to fight. He could probably give anybody a run for their money.

somebody just watched Wrestlemania. Is there anywhere i can post a WrestleMania thread? I just want to know how many MA or MMAers like wrestling since its "fake" and i know a lot of pple who practice martial arts hate it. I for one enjoy WWE more than wathicng ant MA event or MMA liek UFC.

P.S. Cena vs. JBL and HHH vs. Batista ruined a perfect PPV. 7/10 for me.

yeah this wrestlemania sucked but then again pro wrestling all went downhill when mcmahon bought all the organizations and combined them.

My understanding is it was a nun named Wu Mei who invented an internal style of Kung Fu so she could assisinate some Prince or another which she did and then taught Wing Chun the basics.

ummmmmmmmm, i never posted that. U must of copied my name into the wrong quote.

But yah, i think you're right. Just b4 the SHaolin Temple was dismantled all the monks left combined all their knowledge and refined skills to crate 1 efficient form of combat that combined many practices of Kung Fu together.

A nun taguth a girl named Wing Chun and named it after her.

And BJJ is not the only art where people spar others of all different sizes. It is not the only art that teaches technique over power. I know I cant convince you of anything. You're in that BJJ cult. People fought well before BJJ ever existed. Imagine that! What would they have done? But she is not looking for a sport like BJJ, TKD, football, or paintball. She wants to learn self-defense so she should take self-defense. Oh well, I'll let you guys argue it out.
                      Yes, you got that right!
I belong to a BJJ team.
We start with BJJ sport rules and move on to vale tudo/mma on later stage.
If you think a self-defense style for a smaller person is the answer so be it:
Because repeating inconsistent and unproven techniques on willing training partners is not my 'cup of tea', does not mean you are wrong!
But I am done with the self-defense theory for e.g, all that belief/assumptions that so and so techniques will be so 'deadly' if only applied in a street fight: only talks and no 'empirical' prooves in the ring!
This is a modern society with customer awareness that are getting to be able to judge quality of the product/service.
Back in Bruce Lee days, anybody could 'copy' his moves and teach very bad stuff.
Nowdays, people are more aware of MA due to pride and UFC and they are not fooled anymore!
I compare it to computer stuff:
Most of us know how to install a graphic card/modem/new memory cards/software and you do not rely on very expensive and sometimes useless IT experts to do such works: consumers are more aware.

So even if a small women can manage to learn BJJ in a competition team, she is better of than an irrelevant self-defense class.

But the "street" has cement! Cement I say! It's so hard and the glass! My word, a sea of broken glass and foreign objects litter the streets! It's not possible to win as us BJJ guys pull guard on the street (Knowledgable people have told me that's what us BJJ guys do).

You hit the nail on the head wardancer,

                          Training Specificity:
The adaptive process does not include any capacity that extends beyond the specific training stress. Thus, there is no basis to expect training effects from one form of exercise (i.e kata, compliant drills, point sparring,...) to transfer to any other form of exercise (fighting ability). Training is absolutely specific.

                          Verification:
Science is a social enterprise, and scientific work will become accepted by the community only if they can be verified. Crucially, experimental and theoretical results must be reproduced by others within the science community.

                            yes-

[ I dont plan on completely kickin his ass but at least learn ways to act fast to get out of the situation, and run. LIke knowing the soft spots (more than just the one ) just to drop him for enough time to get away. am i making things more clear yet?? someone earlier said about how MA is 80% mental and 20% physical. i know i cant lay someone out like you see in the MA movies, of cousre not, but at least keep my cool to be able to think clearly to react. when situations approach me, for whaetver reason, i start shaking and my mind goes black. i want to get rid of that. I was hoping MA would teach me to control all that. Does this give you guys a better understanding of what im looking for???[/QUOTE]
You want to be a movie star! Well- you're not.

                            Make love, not war. Idiot!
