Hidehiko Yoshida vs. Royce Gracie

well, i don't know how old this fight is but i just finished watching it and let me tell u it was pretty boring.

It was labelled Judo vs. BJJ so i thought i would take a look. The match had no striking wut soever. It is a PRIDE fight so i dont know if strking was banned or not.

And it ended with Yoshida basically laying on top of Royce. I think they thoguht that he tapped out. Anyways it looked kinda suspicious. It was in Japan also. I never seen a UFC fight end with someone tapping because their opponent was in their gurad and laying on their face.

I think your thinking of the first fight they had, the stoppage by the ref was because he thought Royce had passed out from the gi choke Yoshida was applying. Royces camp passionately deny this saying he was just biding his time. Personaly I think the ref was a bit hasty in calling it and was influenced by Yoshida who seemed to say Royce was out to him without checking himself first.

The first fight both were wearing gi, the second Royce took his top of and they both wore gloves so no striking in the first but striking in the second. The second looked very similar to the first with time called when Royce was punching Yoshida from rear mount whilst Yoshida had curled up, it was deemed a draw leaving Yoshida 1-1-0 against Royce.
