    Well CKD,
    Welcome to the Island lifestyle.
A boy trained in your club and he fights in NHB.
Island boys are HUGE compare to your caucasian/european types.
I grew up in the South Pacific islands, the genetics make them look older that you think.
The lack of parenthood and the expection that their social group will play a big part in most polynesian children upbringing.
That he is the way I have seen many youth grew up.
The question is how much you much your american youth have being protected to becvome useless University graduates at 24 years with no life-work experience!

Well, they should done a better job of verfying his age, even though he lied, but like it's been said already he was probably a big island boy without much parental guidance and tougher than your average US kid.

Remember kids fight with full thai rules; elbows, knees, shin kicks and punches to the head without pads and headgear at the ages of 10 and younger in Thailand.

In fact, most champions are forged from their early childhood days having more experience and fights between the ages of 10-18 then most Europeans and Americans will ever have of in their lives.

Not to mention, we've got youth boxing where even though they have headgear they're beating their brains in at an early age.

The kid was not that big. He was about 130 to 140 pounds and only had about a years experience in boxing I believe. People were suspecting he was lying but did not do anything. If he was more experience then it might be o.k. But he was fighting a guy who was 32 years old and with much more experience. The tournament was to get into the Rumble on the Rock show which a 14 year old should not be fighting in. He should have been fighting people more around his weight and experience. I know they have Pankration tourneys for people his age and experience.
