    oops,
David a, what can I say? No hard feelings?
For what its worth, I didn't even notice you posted a similar thread until after I posted mine.
    Merry Christmas though

Ronin, Fuj is starting to grow on me!
But I don't think he has faced TOP competition yet ....well Kerr and Shamrock, but both just kind of stopped fighting. Fuj didn't really beat them up that bad.
I guess he knocked Kerr around though.

      Hey Ryu,

No problem. I had figured that had happened. Looks like you're more popular than me!
      I was just grumpy. lol

Merry Christmas to you too, and God bless.

        Ryu:

Fuj has faced three guys who can deal some serious damage on ordinary men (Kerr, Ken, Yvel). None of them could do a damn thing with him. Fujita is really not human, I think. Someone is going to have to give him a long, slow beating, and not gas out. I don't think he can be KO'd or submitted.

He is really scary. Kind of an evolutionary throw-back.

I believe to face someone like Fujita, you do not need extrondinary skill or KO power to beat him, you need to THINK. I think a stratagy such as keeping it standing and slowing him down with methodical and precise striking along with a few flurries will help you win a strong decision. He is too big for a KO and he is too thick for a submission. Getting him down to a judges decision is more practical safer. You also need a VERY strong takedown offence against Fujita.

I like Fujita as well. I thought he was being manhandled by Ken SHAMrock, though. I don't think he's unstoppable. And I also don't think Kerr had the tools to take him. I just think you need someone with the spheres to get in there and start throwin' the hammers at him. I think Coleman, Igor, or possibly even "Big Daddy" Goodridge could hand him a notch in the loss column. Kenny had it, but he didn't have the "heart" (sorry I had to do it ).

            sakattack,
Yes, I agree that Tito could be the guy to beat Sak, but I don't think he's the only one. Even if Sak didn't fight a marathon 90 min fight with Royce, I think Igor would have still won 'course he's a heavyweight, and he gives EVERYONE trouble . I also think that Vanderlei (is that how you spell it?) Silva could be the one, because he can land some hard shots while absorbing some punishment which would be the key. Make Sak come to you, and then initiate the takedown. You gotta put him on his back, and that's gonna take a stronger, more aggresive opponent. It's just hard to find that type of guy in the middleweights. Maybe Frank Shamrock. Who knows. I agree that he needs to stop fighting Gracies before he gets too soft j/k

I should say that Silva's performance was very impressive. I didn't expect him to win this fight - it sounds like he out-grappled Henderson. Amazing. NOW he has proven himself to me, and taken out one of the few remaining undefeated fighters in MMA.

IMO, Kerr does not have the chin or finishing ability to hang with the top Heavyweights. I'm sure someone will make some excuse for him, but he has never convincingly beaten a top Heavyweight. Heck, even Gurgel survived.

I hate to say it, but Fujita might be for real. He is undefeated against TOP competition. Can anyone hurt this guy? Coleman, maybe Igor.
rickson has nothing else to prove. he's the all time great. if he fought sak he would kick his ass. sak is not nearly as talented as rickson. rickson is well conditioned better than any other gracie and his technique is supreme. rickson deserves anyone he wants to fight.

another gracie basher who doen't know what the f... he's talking about. silva does not have the take down or grappling capabilities to beat sak. i think riccardo alimeda would beat sak. he's a solid fighter. rickson would beat sak but i think that's out odf the question for now. tito's graplling skills are questionable. he likes to ground and pound. sak is too experienced for that.however tito's takedowns are pretty good. tito might have the chance but is not the best choice. ryan i think would have beat sak if he wasn't injured and if he trained harder.

Guardman: Jaguar is a Gracie basher? You must be a Gracie lover if you think Ryan had a chance if he trained harder and wasn't injured. What the f___ is that? What kind of excuse is that?

Don't have such strong opinions if yours is as far out as any troll.

Hey Ryu, I'd like to see him against Silva first, then Hallman, a rematch with Newton, and then the match everyone's been awaiting.........HICKSON.

                    Ronnie.

                      guardman,
I'll admit that last line was a little cheap shot at the Gracie family, but I still stand by it . If that makes me a Gracie basher, then so be it. I have a lot of respect for the Gracies, though. Renzo is one of my favorites, and after watching some old UFC stuff, I still think Royce gave the martial arts world a wake up call. I didn't like them at first, but I've since grown to appreciate what they've done. It's just that Sak is at the top of his unpredictable, unorthodox game right now.

About Silva, I don't think he has the takedown skills, but if he can drop some bombs on Sak and make HIM commit to the takedown then he can clinch, or sprawl, and try to put Sak on his back (Sak's takedown skills aren't the best). I think Silva's ability to absorb a couple of shots while throwing some heavy leather is what may give him a chance. That and he's bigger physically than the Gracies. I think Tito's the guy with the best shot right now, though.
